About The Job
Provide technical expertise on Piping Engineering to Operations, Projects & Other areas of ADNOC Refining (AR) business such as Asset Development, Asset Management, Procurement, Contracts through the Technical Authority framework, in order to ensure safe, reliable & sustainable operation of AR business during all phases of asset life (Assess, Select, Define, Execute, Operate & Decommission). The job requires technical knowledge and problem-solving expertise, attitude for quick and clever judgement in finding correct and appropriate course of action and very good communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with Operations, professional Engineering Contractors and Vendors.
Key Accountabilities
• Development of Statement of Requirements for Grass Root as well as Revamp Projects
• Review the work performed from Piping views by Project Management Consultants (PMC) and supervises the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) Contractors / Detailed Engineering Contractors' work.
• Review and endorse Critical Engineering Deliverables for all phases of Project related to Piping.
• Provide Technical support for Revamping / Capacity Enhancement / Modifications / Performance Improvement / Engineering Studies of Piping.
• Provide the right Piping technical resources with the necessary skills and capabilities to ensure Technical Assurance of Minor and Major Capital Projects, to deliver Projects within the required technical specifications, technical and quality assurance standards, within schedule and budget.
• Responsible to provide Technical input to RCA /Major investigations related to Piping.
• Ensure high level of Technical Competency of Piping in line with Industry best practices, to deliver efficient Technical Services to Operations, Projects and other areas of ADNOC Refining business.
• Provide technical support to Operations through the Technical Authority Framework with clearly defined accountabilities of Piping discipline and aligned with the requirement of the business
• Provide support to Procurement Division in review of technical bids, technical clarifications in selection of Consultants and Contractors.
• Perform technical evaluation of Piping Engineering.
• Review existing Specifications and Initiates the Development and Updating ADNOC Refining DGS and Standard Drawings with respect to the Fit-For-Purpose utilization, interpretation and application of technical standards, wherever required.
• Provide technical support related to Piping Engineering to ADNOC and other Group Companies (Development of AGES, technical support to ADNOC Commercial Directory for pre-qualification and registration of Suppliers / Manufacturers / Consultants / Contractors, technical support to IPR, COR etc).
• Provides discipline expert advice and assistance to Operation Plants for critical any major & complex issues in the Engineering activities. Reviews Engineering Design and Specifications related to the existing plants and Capital Projects.
• Participates in various Project design and Technical reviews in the different phases of the Project (Assess, Select, Define, Execute) to ensure full Technical compliance to the Piping Design requirements
Enterprise Risk Management and Audits:
• Applies knowledge and techniques in risk management applied in assessing and dealing with internal and external project risks (as applicable).
• Participate in Internal and External Audit on engineering & project function related to minor projects, ensure timely closure as per agreed timeframe.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience, preferably in the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical or Fertilizer Industry.
• Minimum of 8years of experience in the field of Piping
• Technical knowledge of Piping Codes & Standards, Design Softwares
• Technical knowledge and problem-solving expertise, Quick & Sound decision making and judgement
• Knowledge of the Group's operations and various sectors and ability to provide support to ongoing operational issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable
• Experience in design engineering software tools (e.g. PDS, SP 3D, CAESAR II etc.) and Various engineering Studies/ Deliverables, Technical Bid evaluation, Piping Material specification, Specialty component specification, Data sheets, Line list, Equipment layout, Piping Layout, Isometrics, Piping Stress analysis and Piping support design.
