Senior Engineer Procurement

Job description / Role

We are currently hiring a Senior Engineer – Procurement for a leading engineering and infrastructure organization in the United Arab Emirates.
This role is ideal for procurement professionals with strong technical engineering knowledge and hands-on experience in infrastructure, utilities, power, energy, or large-scale construction projects within the UAE or GCC region.

Role Overview
The Senior Engineer – Procurement will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for engineering materials, equipment, and technical services. The role requires close coordination with engineering, project management, and commercial teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
This position plays a critical role in supporting major infrastructure and utility projects across the UAE.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage procurement processes for engineering materials, MEP systems, mechanical and electrical equipment
• Review technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and project requirements
• Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs in line with UAE procurement standards
• Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, procurement policies, and contractual requirements
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely material delivery
• Monitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships
• Support contract administration, variations, and claims management
• Maintain procurement documentation and reporting systems

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
• Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain (preferred)

Experience Required
• 8–12 years of procurement experience in UAE or GCC
• Strong background in infrastructure, utilities, power, water, oil & gas, or construction sectors
• Experience handling technical procurement for large-scale projects
• Proven expertise in vendor management and contract negotiation
• Familiarity with UAE market suppliers and procurement regulations

• ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)
• Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
