Job description / Role
Our client, a large event management firm in the UAE, is urgently looking for a Senior Event Manager. In this role, you will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of a variety of events and live activities, including employee forums, internal conferences, VIP hospitality programmes, etc. You will be part of a six person account team based in the UAE offices, providing both live events and sponsorship consultancy services to this important UAE institution.
Other responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Program planning, execution, task management, vendor relations,
• Administrative, upkeep and event updates, communications liaison and scheduling
• Budget management plan to the budget / notify director of status
• Coordinate function orders and logistics
• Developing client program proposals and program design
• Timelines, and task management
• Facilities management, audio visual, room layouts and design
• Production, staging, and on site execution
• Vendor sourcing and management
• Timelines, and task management
• Contracting, negotiations, and compliance
• Risk assessment and management (emergency planning)
• Event budgeting and financials
• Registration and communications best practices (experience with event registration platforms, including event)
• Evaluations, reporting and analysis
• Oversee of all deliverables and deadlines
• Oversee all ongoing projects
• Complete status reports
• Keep track of all required actions from third parties
• Quality control – ensuring standards of service are consistent and of an expected quality
• Identifying new opportunities, exploring and converting them including the re-pitch for existing workstreams
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:
• Leadership and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong experience in account management and strategic events planning
• Significant client-facing experience within UAE public sector (ideally)
• Ability and confidence to guide clients
• Proven team management, development and leadership skills
• Proven ability to prioritise and delegate
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills
• Working knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Word and cloud sharing programs
• Understanding of social media in event settings
