Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Expeditor to join its UAE business unit. This is a full-time onsite position in Sharjah, UAE with travel requirement.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Expeditor to join our UAE Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an international client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by provision of engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as supply chain, construction and commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.
Projects include both greenfield and brownfield modification projects and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities
- Establishes priorities, assigns workloads and reviews the more difficult and complex aspects of the expediting workload
- Responsible for the desk and field expediting of all project purchase orders through to FCA readiness
- Updating system with the expediting status of purchase orders
- Obtain quotations for field expediting plans and CVs of third party expediting providers
- Expediting the engineering team for timely document approvals
- Notifying supply chain focal points of any potential schedule slippages
- Setting expediting follow up dates in the relevant system
- Checking field expediting manufacturing schedules
- Liaison with field expediting suppliers to coordinate expediting visits
- Receiving field expediting progress reports and updating the relevant systems
- Issuing expediting reports as required by the project
- Demonstrate commitment to safe working practices

Expected:
- Degree qualification
- Minimum of 10 years expediting experience in the oil and gas industry
- Detailed knowledge of materials and document expediting practices
- Strong team player
- Excellent communication skills
- The individual should have previous experience in a similar level role
- Previous use of ERP systems such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP
- Broad knowledge of suppliers in the Middle East region and ideally in the UAE and Iraq
