Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Supervising and executing the day to day accounting operations in the assigned territory ensuring effective financial control.
• Ensuring periodical reconciliation of bank accounts, AR, AP and inter-company balances, and journal vouchers.
• Ensuring company’s assets recorded in ERP and Fixed Asset Registers are accurately recorded and maintained.
• Ensuring accuracy of inventory reporting and assisting with the improvement of internal controls related to inventory.
• Developing and maintaining inventory reports and variance analysis.
• Preparing periodic financial statements for the relevant territory / business unit.
• Monitoring cash flow forecasting for the relevant territory / business unit and supporting line managers in management of cash resources.
• Supervising and finalizing monthly payroll and ensuring salaries are disbursed in time.
• Supporting line managers in preparing financial reports (both periodic and ad hoc) for management as and when required.
• Supporting the external audit process, interfacing directly with external audit staff.
• Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting records, and reported financial information.
• Supporting the Finance team with the preparation of annual budgets & forecasts, and monthly reporting of performance against projections.
• Providing job cover for both senior and junior colleagues when required.

Group Role only:
• Preparation Group periodic consolidated financial statements, including all required month- and year-end adjustments; and
• Maintenance and consolidation of Group Fixed Asset Register, and associated periodic reconciliations.

Requirements

• Education to degree level.
• Internationally recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• Background / training in audit, preferably with a ‘Big 4’ or top tier professional services firm.
• IFRS knowledge (including consolidation for the Group-level role) and solid understanding of financial reporting and management accounting.
• Hands on experience working in finance teams in industry (Rental industry experience would be advantageous, but not a pre-requisite).
• Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player, with effective communication skills and the ability to manage the work junior team members and the expectations of senior staff.
• Strong analytical and technical skills for maintaining accounting records, resolving technical issues, and reporting financial performance.
• Proficiency in the usage of MS office packaged, with advanced-level expertise in MS Excel.
• Proficiency in the practical use of accounting software (Sage would be advantageous).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
