Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Deputy Head - Contractor

Job description / Role

Lead geotechnical and structural design of bored piles, secant piles, diaphragm walls, barrettes, anchors, struts, and piled raft foundations. Perform advanced 3D finite element modeling using Plaxis 3D for soil-structure interaction analysis. Work closely with the Department Head to lead geotechnical design, mentor engineers and designers, and drive technical excellence across UAE and Saudi Arabia projects.

Description

* Lead geotechnical and structural design of bored piles, secant piles, diaphragm walls, barrettes, anchors, struts, and piled raft foundations
* Perform advanced 3D finite element modeling using Plaxis 3D for soil-structure interaction analysis
* Conduct structural analysis using SAFE for raft foundations and ground slabs
* Design ground improvement works: vibro compaction, stone columns, dynamic compaction, grouting techniques
* Review calculations, drawings, specifications; ensure code compliance (BS, Eurocodes, ACI, local regulations)
* Manage and mentor team of geotechnical designers, engineers, and CAD draftsmen
* Support business development, technical proposals, and client presentations

A successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Deputy Head of Department should have:

* 12-15 years experience with 5+ years in senior/leadership role
* Geotechnical Engineering design of larger and complex projects in UAE/GCC
* MUST have substantial piling and foundation contracting company experience - consultancy only is insufficient
* Advanced Plaxis 3D proficiency for FEM modeling and soil-structure interaction
* Strong SAFE knowledge for structural analysis of foundation systems
* Hands-on ground improvement experience (vibro compaction, stone columns, dynamic compaction, grouting)
* Deep foundation design expertise: piles, diaphragm walls, anchors, barrettes
* Proven team management and multi-disciplinary project coordination
* Excellent English; PE/Chartered Engineer status preferred
