Senior HVAC Design Engineer

Job description / Role

The HVAC Engineer will develop, select, manage and report all activities relating to the HVAC systems for a mega-scale data center modular. Project Director the HVAC Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of HVAC system implementation spanning from initial design to site implementation/integration. The HVAC Engineer will also provide support to the construction contractor during the construction phase to support on-time and on-budget completion of the project.

• Design and develop HVAC solutions for extremely large data centers to highest standards and demanding requirements
• Be fully knowledgeable in immersion cooling tanks and their cooling requirements
• Have solid and successful prior experience with industrial building cooling systems for 500MW+ heat rejection load
• Have a full understanding of the data center PUE and the optimization of the HVAC system required to optimize the plant PUE
• Have knowledge of leading suppliers for cooling/HVAC system and latest technical solutions they can provide
• Have detailed knowledge of the efficiency and power requirements of the HVAC various cooling equipment including large industrial chillers
• Provide support and expertise for the implementation of alternative cooling solutions
• Technical and commercial verification of suppliers proposals for HVAC equipment, HVAC philosophy / Schematic, flow and control diagrams
• Work with selection and calculation software from various suppliers of data center cooling equipment
• Develop SD, DD and CD documentation sets, including installation and assembly documentation and Developing of erection and installation procedures, maintenance manuals

Requirements

• 7-10 years of HVAC system design experience in large industrial buildings
• Hold an Mechanical Engineering degree from a credited university
• Hold Data Center Design certification (e.g. Uptime Institute ATD, TIA942 acc. Designer etc.)
• Expertise in industrial building designs and practices and applicable laws and commercial regulations in Kuwait or M.E.
• Experience as Owner's team member and Arabic speaking are a plus
