Job description / Role
We are working with a growing UAE based bank looking to hire a Senior Infrastructure Administrator to manage and support the existing infrastructure environment within the company, primarily focused on AIX platform and EMC environment. The candidate must possess self confidence in his/her technical abilities to perform day to day storage administration & project migration.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Responsibly for maintaining the system support for enterprise storage.
• Ensure the banks technical infrastructure is kept up to date, from both hardware and software perspective.
• Responsible for project management of implementations of various related products.
• Work closely with other members of the storage/server management function within both teams.
• The candidate will be responsible for producing management information reports and continuous service improvement plan for the technical support service to improve the quality of the business.
• Fully understand the interaction between the IT department and the business units.
Requirements
• The candidate must have a relevant technical degree.
• Must have previous experience working within a similar technical environment
• Strong Linux/Unix background and good knowledge of AIX platforms.
• Deep Knowledge of EMC products (Centura etc)
• Deep understanding of storage concepts e.g NFS, Samba, SAN, disk IO bottlenecks
• Good shell scripting skills, preferably in sh/ksh/bash and perl shell scripting
• Arabic speaking is essential
• Any knowledge or experience with open source tools such as Puppet, Nagios, Munin, Apache etc would be advantageous as the bank looks to utilise more of these technologies
