This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Instrumentation Designer (SPI/3D) with a proven track record in creating detailed instrumentation design drawings and models using SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and 3D CAD software to support engineering projects for a high-profile client.

The key objectives for this role are:

• Creating precise instrumentation design drawings and 3D models using SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and 3D CAD software.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project specifications and requirements.
• Ensuring all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive design documentation and records.
• Implementing innovative design solutions to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
• Conducting thorough reviews and quality checks of design work to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Addressing and resolving any design-related issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Providing guidance and support to junior designers and team members.

Responsibilities

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

• Assist the senior designer in instrumentation design activities by timely developing the drawings as per project and company quality standards.
• Ability to analyze and understand client requirements.
• Ability to develop bills of materials.
• SPI, PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D modeling or 2D drafting.
• Installation layouts (instrument location layouts, air distribution, main cable routing, secondary cable tray). Building layouts (control room equipment layout, earthing layout, telecom layout). Instrument standard installation/hookups and cable block diagram.
• Loop drawing, wiring diagram in 2D as well as in SPI.
• Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management.
• Coordinate with members of discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with clients, third parties, vendors, etc.
• Participate in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned, and close-out.
• Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects.
• Should be able to add value plus optimization ideas.

Expected:

• Diploma or degree in instrumentation or electronics and communication.
• 15+ years' experience in I&C design, with a minimum of 5+ years in engineering consultancy.
• In-depth knowledge of design tools - AutoCAD/Microstation.
• SPI, PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D modeling software experience.
• Ability to organize and set priorities.
• Ability to communicate and present effectively.
• Ability to report in English, both verbal and in writing.
• Proactive attitude.
