Overview
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Instrumentation Designer - E3D focusing on carrying out assigned instrument design work for a major onshore brownfield project in Sharjah, UAE. This is a full-time onsite position in Sharjah, UAE, with possible travel.

Wood has been awarded an onshore brownfield project to support an international client operation for delivering FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning services. This project focuses on enhancing degassing stations, optimizing flare systems, and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key Objectives
- Carry out assigned instrument design work as part of a multi-discipline project team.
- May be required to perform site surveys and data gathering exercises at various project locations.
- Provide discipline-specific design and drafting services that meet the project's and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support to the site team during design, engineering, and construction.
- Preparation and checking of all types of electrical and/or instrument design deliverables such as block diagrams, schematics, layout drawings, termination diagrams, schedules, loop diagrams, hook-up arrangements, material take-offs, etc.
- Interdisciplinary check of all civil/structural/piping/mechanical/electrical/instrumentation drawings.
- Review of vendor drawings for equipment/package items.
- Assist in the coordination of all activities related to the discipline.
- Promote safe behavior at all times.

Expected:
- Diploma qualification or HND in instrument or electronics engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in an engineering design company as an instrument and controls designer.
- Knowledge of site-based project work involving field engineering and construction.
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
- Previous onshore oil and gas related electrical and/or instrument design experience.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
- Experience in E3D is required.
