Job purpose

To initiate and co-ordinate all insurance policies and ensure that the various assets carry adequate insurance coverage in accordance with enterprise policy standard.

Key activities, responsibility & accountability

Corporation wide risk insurance strategies

Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Assist Head of Insurance with risk financing strategies and self-insured retention strategies (uninsured and deductibles) to ensure alignment with the finance objectives.

Coordinate with insurers for risk management survey of the main assets and new major projects and implementation of the risk improvement recommendations.

Ensure compliance with enterprise regulatory and legal requirements including its commitments under the Power Purchase Agreement and Common Terms Agreement.

Key insurance covers

Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Research and review available covers premium quotations and provide analysis on cover and price to ensure that the best optimum quotation is awarded, review contract wording and renew the authorized covers.

Assist with the implementation of solutions and business benefits to ensure continuity of operations.

Record the claims, inform the insurer of the claims within the approved time frame and follow up the claims with the insurer.

Financial management

Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Develop reports on costs vs budgets, and review invoices and pass for authorization to the Head of Insurance with all required supporting documents to ensure that all the insurance elements are accounted for in the budget.

Track and review the premiums paid to ensure alignment with the agreed upon contracts.

Outsourced service provision management

Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Assist Head of Insurance in reviewing and negotiating insurance policies terms and conditions with the insurance companies, brokers and consultants.

Professional certifications

Minimum (mandatory):

Diploma of Chartered Insurance Institute UK or Associate Member of Indian Insurance Institute (AIII), or Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications (Cert CII) or equivalent.

Preferred:

Advanced Diploma in Insurance of the Chartered Institute of UK (ACII) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).

Qualifications

Bacheloru2019s degree in business administration, finance, insurance, law, or any other relevant discipline.

Experience

10 years relevant experience preferably in UAE insurance market.

Bi-lingual English and Arabic

Chartered Insurance Institute or equivalent and/or Risk Management

Technical competency

Strong background in liability and financial lines risk assessment and underwriting.

Experience in property, casualty and other general lines in risk assessment and underwriting.

Language skills

Minimum (mandatory):

Fluent and professional in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
