Job description / Role
Responsible for assisting the Vice President - Internal Audit with providing independent internal audit services to flydubai, which will help the protection of Company assets. To be a key contributor to the department by providing a strong professional presence, technical expertise, business sense and a strong desire to help improve the overall internal control environment of flydubai.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Activities
- Participate in independent testing of Company key controls
- Determine scope of reviews in conjunction with Vice President - Internal Audit
- Identify, research and report on significant accounting, auditing and internal control issues during an audit and propose action plan
- Lead audit engagements by performing planning, fieldwork, and report writing duties
- Ensure all work papers and internal audit reports comply with quality control standards and are properly backed up and stored in accordance with department policies
- Determine compliance with policies and procedures
- Identify areas of improvement and secure Management buy-in to recommendations
- Bring added value (best practices, etc.) to the operations being audited
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business and financial personnel, including the Senior Management Team
- Operate across all areas of the business (operational and finance) with little direct supervision
- Manage own priorities to achieve agreed upon timelines and supervise Internal Auditors
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
- Must be able to travel internationally if needed (10% of the role)
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
- University Degree or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in an internal audit department. Airline experience will be an advantage/preferred.
Knowledge / Skills
- Facilitation and presentation skills
- Internal audit software, ACL or any other data analysis software is desirable
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Certificate / License required
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred
- CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
Additional Requirements
- Experience of writing reports
- Experience of project management
- Audit experience with a multinational company is desirable
