Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As the IT Support Officer you will be responsible for providing high quality customer service to ensure students and staff receives appropriate IT support and advice, maintain IT systems and ensure IT requirements are met throughout the campus.

Description

• Maintain on campus and off campus users on server
• Maintain a company standardized image on all IT hardware throughout the campus Installation and configuration of software patches, operating systems and drivers as and when they become available
• Manage and correct anti-virus issues
• Recommend and report on hardware and software upgrade requirements from time to time
• Report on software licensing issues and breaches on a bi-annual basis to IT in-charge
• Arrange quotes on required hardware and software as asked
• Ensure daily backups of the server and regular backups of required data
• Ensure network drives are maintained in a tidy order and are periodically cleaned
• Maintain user PCs including installing additional hardware as required and approved
• Provide desktop and printing support (diagnosing hardware & software failures)
• Troubleshoot laptop wireless issues
• Maintain IT inventory including regularly scheduled checks
• Liaise with for hardware and software maintenance of PCs and its peripherals
• Maintain network performance
• Maintain the IT equipment in labs
• Assist students and lecturers as required in the use of computer laboratories
• Monitor student compliance with computer lab usage policies
• Ensure student download traffic is adequately tracked and recorded for suspension and notification requirements
• Undertake project work as required by IT in-charge
• Assist in development of SQL queries for staff utilizing the MAZE database
• Assist staff with IT related issues during student enrollment

Requirements

• Degree in IT discipline or equivalent academic qualification
• Good knowledge of LANs and WANs including Active Directory and Windows servers
• Excellent personal characteristics, customer service and communication skills
• Flexible to work in full time shift systems throughout the academic year
• Great organisation skills with a demonstrated enthusiastic and proactive approach to work
• Ability to work in a changing service environment and motivated to achieve specified goals and targets
