Senior Laboratory Specialist

Job description / Role

Job Description:
- Able to breed several species of fish (Tilapia of different strains, Catfish, and Ornamental fishes like KOI Carp, Gold Fish, Barb Fish)
- Help in preparing test feeds needed for all senior project students
- Maintain all fish in nine closed recirculating systems with varying types of tank sizes
- Able to maintain water quality of fish tanks to keep them within acceptable range (measuring Dissolved Oxygen, TAN, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrates, H2S, pH, TDS, TSS)
- Able to manage water filtration system mechanically and biologically
- Support work in the aquaponics systems
- Able to transfer fish from one place to another
- Able to monitor fish in holding and grow out tanks
- Preparation of practical sessions of the following classes:

• Principle of Fisheries Management
• Animal Nutrition
• Advanced Fish Nutrition
• Animal Welfare
• Issues of Animal Protein Production

Requirements

Minimum Qualification:
- BSc in Marine Fisheries & Animal Science, Animal Sciences and Aquaculture
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Excellent in Arabic and English Languages

Preferred Qualification:
- Three years work experience in Aquaculture Lab
