Charterhouse is currently working alongside an established, international organisation within the Financial Services, who is looking to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel with expertise in M&A and Commercial matters.

The Senior Legal Counsel will work to support the Head of Legal and wider Legal Group with managing domestic and international legal risk, establishing and implementing legal policies within the company. You will provide legal advice and support to the organisation in line with the relevant strategic and business objectives alongside ensuring compliance with all laws, rules and regulations.

In addition, the Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for litigation and disputes within their respective expertise, representing the organisation to resolve matters in their best interest and reporting these matters to General Counsels, Head of Legal and relevant stakeholders. Responsibilities will also include the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of various contracts and legal documents.

This role will also require close collaboration with external law firms, outside counsel and relevant authorities.

Requirements

The client is looking for a candidate with a minimum of 7 years’ experience either within a similar organisation, or within Private Practice. The candidate should also have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with commercial transactions and skills that can be applied in support of the corporate M&A practice.

To be considered for this role, the candidate will be common-law qualified, with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Law from a recognised University. It is essential that the candidate have excellent communication skills in English. Arabic language skills are not required but will be advantageous.
