The Role

The Senior Manager: Commercial Legal is responsible to manage all aspects of commercial legal requirements, transactions and initiatives within the Company, with a primary focus on Global Sourcing and Supply Chain (GSSC). This role will manage and provide guidance and advice on legal aspects of transactions, legal risks and other legal matters, Provide guidance, support and advice to operating units in relation to commercial legal matters, with a primary focus on mobile financial services

Core Responsibilities

* Negotiating commercial interests across various functions and roles within the business.
* Manage and provide legal advice and opinions.
* Manage and participate in various projects undertaken by different departments from a legal perspective.
* Management of litigation and active engagement in on-going disputes resolution matters.
* Advise and decide on litigation strategy and approach.
* Facilitation and structuring of contractual framework.
* Managing the negotiation of legal framework with other parties whilst maintaining uniform standards adopted at group level.
* Manage legal relationships between Operations and management of legal relationships between the Company and its trade partners.
* Effective drafting and reviewing of quality contracts.
* Drive best practise on processes and procedures.
* Drive compilation of common contract templates and encourage common usage.
* Undertake contract negotiation function.
* Attend to all legal queries from various departments.
* Advise management on new legislation and the impact thereof on the business.
* Liaise with external law firms that provide legal support to the Company and ensure feedback filters through to the intended recipients.
* Ensure all agreements, letters of intent and contracts comply with the Company Framework Agreement, the Company Corporate standards and processes and Country and local legislation.
* Provide assurance that all commercial standards and expectations are delivered throughout program
* Assist in selection and evaluation of contractors and tendering process.
* Identification of possible risk, and manager the implementation of mitigating strategies.
* Tracking and enforcing key contract terms.
* Document the programme service and equipment requirements in support of procurement activities including Service Description, Service Levels.
* Develop Charges Methodologies, Change Management, Governance and Key legal terms and conditions.
* Assist with the evaluation of responses from Vendors on the Key Commercial considerations, Proposed Service Levels, Governance and Key Legal terms and conditions.
* Once vendor is selected, ensure all responses and details are captured in the Master Agreement.
* Tracking and enforcing key contract terms.
* Management of non-adherence to contractual commitments.
* Serve as a subject matter expert on the contract database with the ability to write user guidelines, conduct training sessions, deal with questions and concerns from the user base.
* Initiate and participate in fulfillment of contract requirements. Serve as a business advisor to internal customers on the contracts.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

* Minimum 4-year Academic Degree with Honours (LLB or equivalent preferred)
* Admission as an attorney
* MBA / Masters advantageous
* Fluent in English
* Minimum 5 - 8 years of Legal Experience at a reputable law firm.
* Experience advising on matters, transactions and regulatory issues relating to Sourcing and Supply chain

Salary & Benefits

* 40-50K Per month
