Job description / Role
We're presently working on behalf of a client who operate in project development and finance across the Middle East and Africa. Due to regional expansion they're looking for a Senior Legal Manager to join their team in Dubai, UAE. The Role:
* Negotiate, draft and review legal documents at all legal stages of a project and project related agreements (EPC, O&M, PPA, JVA, JDA, service agreements, MoUs, NDA, Land Lease Agreements, etc.)
* Negotiate, oversee and coordinate drafting and execution of contracts with suppliers and clients
* Advise all departments on legal matters and draft necessary documents (e.g. for HR, Operations, etc.)
* Liaise with and manage external lawyers and business partners in a highly efficient manner to ensure smooth running of agreements within a project
* Anticipate potential legal risks and define strategies to mitigate them
* Define legal strategies with regards to corporate and project-related matters
* Research and stay on top of necessary regulatory requirements for country-specific projects and corporate matters
Requirements
* Excellent team-working and organizational skills
* Highly motivated and flexible
* Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent disposition and communication skills
* Full professional proficiency in English is a must (spoken and written)
* Excellent legal research and writing skills
* Accuracy and close attention to detail
* Commitment to high professional and ethical standards and maintenance of client and corporate confidentiality
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and work to an excellent standard under pressure
* Bachelor's or Master's in Corporate Law
* 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role in the renewable energy or infrastructure development industry
* Previous work experience in an international and multi-cultural environment
* Previous in-house experience will be highly appreciated
