Employment: Full Time

The prime role of the Senior Legal Secretary is to provide enhanced support to his/her Principal to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency. This will include, but will not be limited to, the main responsibilities given below.

The Legal Secretary is expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative and to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Main Responsibilities

- To be the main point of contact for clients in the absence of his/her Principal.
- To build relationships with clients and internal contacts on behalf of the team.
- To attend clients/contacts in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the Firm’s standards for client care.
- To maintain relevant client information including rates, billing procedures and keeping the team members informed.
- To request billing guides and draft bills and deal with interim billing as appropriate.
- To arrange meetings, seminars etc where applicable and to take minutes.
- To prepare correspondence and legal documents through audio typing and word processing and to ensure a high quality of the documents, faxes and photocopies
- To open and close files.
- To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.
- To maintain and update the filing systems.
- To answer the telephones promptly, taking messages and following up where necessary.
- Controlling the diaries, organising meetings, lunches, booking rooms etc.
- Completing and submitting timesheets on time.
- To use initiative to progress files within the limits of his/her own ability.
- To provide guidance to junior and temporary secretaries when required to do so.

Salary:

- AED 10,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

To be considered for this position you must already be a Legal Secretary working within a Law Firm or a in-house legal team. An Oil & Gas background is desirable but not essential. You will possess a minimum of 5 years experience within the UAE and be able to work/relocate to Ras Al Khaimah.
