Objective:

This position is responsible for leading the overall maintenance function across the company's retail stores, warehouses, and corporate facilities. The role provides strategic direction, governance, and continuous improvement across all maintenance operations, ensuring asset reliability, compliance, vendor efficiency, and budget adherence in alignment with Apparel Group's operational excellence standards.

Key responsibility:

Strategic leadership & planning
  • Develop and execute long-term maintenance strategies that support business continuity, sustainability goals, and brand-specific operational requirements.
  • Set performance benchmarks and KPIs for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across all geographies.
  • Guide the planning and deployment of annual maintenance programs and asset lifecycle strategies.
  • Operational excellence & risk management
  • Oversee all maintenance operations across retail, logistics, and corporate facilities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
  • Establish robust systems to monitor performance trends, equipment reliability, and breakdown analytics.
  • Lead risk assessments, compliance audits, and safety inspections in alignment with industry standards and internal policies.
  • Team leadership & governance
  • Lead, mentor, and build capabilities within a cross-functional team of managers, supervisors, and technicians.
  • Drive accountability and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and grooming standards across all technical teams.
  • Review audit findings, PMS reports, and team performance; implement continuous improvement measures.
  • Vendor & AMC oversight
  • Lead strategic partnerships and SLA governance with AMC vendors for MEP, HVAC, fire & safety, pest control, and water filtration systems.
  • Monitor service-level adherence and performance of external contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Resolve escalations and ensure uninterrupted technical support through vendor coordination.
  • Asset, inventory & budget management
  • Ensure centralized control and optimization of asset inventory, critical spares, and tools across regions.
  • Approve procurement plans, manage engineering stock levels, and ensure readiness of standby equipment.
  • Lead the development and control of annual maintenance budgets, including AMCs, capex, and internal team costs.
  • Stakeholder collaboration
  • Act as the primary liaison with key internal stakeholders including Operations, Projects, Procurement, Accounts, and Brand Leadership.
  • Present strategic inputs and performance dashboards to senior management on infrastructure reliability and maintenance ROI.
  • Facilitate approvals and execution of critical upgrades and refurbishments in collaboration with business leaders.
  • Innovation & process improvement
  • Implement automation tools, digital maintenance systems, and CMMS platforms to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Lead initiatives in sustainability, energy optimization, and green maintenance practices.
  • Regularly review maintenance SOPs and conduct upskilling sessions for teams on new technologies and best practices.
  • Desired experience:

  • 10-12 years of relevant experience in facility or equipment maintenance, with minimum 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelors/ITI in Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent technical discipline preferred; MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, troubleshooting, safety protocols, and resource coordination.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and general fit-out systems.
  • Proficient in reading maintenance logs, assigning manpower, and ensuring team performance.
