Senior Manager Sustainability (Energy/Utilities)

Job description / Role

Black Pearl is partnering with a leading engineering firm to recruit a dynamic Sustainability Strategy Lead to drive their ESG agenda and champion long-term environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:
• Own and execute the corporate sustainability strategy, including decarbonization, climate adaptation, circular economy, and more
• Lead the full sustainability reporting cycle (data collection, materiality assessments, stakeholder engagement, assurance) in line with GRI, CDP, SASB and UN SDG frameworks
• Manage and improve ESG ratings, certifications and disclosures (MSCI ESG, Sustainalytics, EcoVadis, etc.)
• Oversee multi-year, cross-functional initiatives (renewable energy integration, energy & water efficiency, sustainable procurement, waste reduction, employee engagement)
• Leverage digital ESG tracking and analytics tools to drive performance improvements.

To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:
• 4+ years of sustainability experience in utilities or energy/water sectors, blending strategy-consulting and corporate roles.
• Proven track record designing and implementing corporate sustainability and decarbonization strategies
• Hands-on expertise with end-to-end sustainability reporting and materiality assessments
• Experience managing ESG ratings/certifications and enhancing disclosure quality
• Strong program-management skills and the ability to engage senior stakeholders
• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business (Master’s preferred)
