Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee the mechanical works across high-rise and mid-rise EMAAR residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have solid technical knowledge, practical site experience, and familiarity with EMAAR standards and UAE authority requirements. This position is best suited for professionals coming from a main contracting or reputable subcontracting background in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems on-site.
• Review technical submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals to ensure compliance with project specifications and authority regulations.
• Coordinate with consultants, MEP subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely execution and quality compliance.
• Attend site meetings and inspections with EMAAR representatives and consultants.
• Monitor project progress, track mechanical installation activities, and resolve technical issues proactively.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality control, and authority standards (DEWA, DCD, DM, etc.).
• Assist in testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and preparation of as-built drawings and O&M manuals.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of UAE experience in a main contracting or subcontracting company.
• Must have worked on at least 2 to 3 EMAAR residential or commercial building projects.
• Experience in mid to high-rise buildings is essential.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
• Familiar with EMAAR procedures, quality expectations, and documentation requirements.
• Sound knowledge of local authority standards and approval processes (DEWA, DM, DCD).
• Proficient in reviewing technical submittals, shop drawings, and coordination drawings.

Soft Skills:

• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to lead site activities and manage subcontractors.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Able to work under pressure and deliver within tight timelines.

Salary:
AED 15,000 to 18,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
