Senior MEP Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Engineer to lead the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering efforts for our premier shopping mall in Abu Dhabi. This role involves managing and coordinating complex MEP systems to ensure optimal performance, compliance with international standards, and an exceptional shopping environment.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of MEP systems for retail environments, ensuring compliance with local codes and international standards.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate MEP services seamlessly within the overall project.
- Oversee and review MEP drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Manage MEP project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Conduct site inspections, troubleshooting, and quality audits to maintain operational excellence.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and site teams.
- Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations are strictly adhered to on project sites.
- Stay updated with latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in MEP engineering for retail spaces.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Professional engineering certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP engineering within retail or large commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and building management systems.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Proficient in MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant simulation tools.
- Experienced in the preparation of tender documents, SOW, drawings, and BOQs
- Familiarity with UAE regulations and standards relevant to retail MEP systems is highly desirable.
