Senior Pipeline Designer

Job description / Role

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Pipeline Designer to join our in-house engineering team in Dubai, UAE.

Responsibilities

Primary Role:
- To promote safe behavior at all times.
- To support the Lead Pipeline Engineer in developing cost-effective pipeline design and drawings.
- To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
- To coordinate with other disciplines for interdisciplinary checks.
- Display a working knowledge of industry standard drafting practices, good mechanical aptitude, and general knowledge of engineering.

Technical Skills

- To prepare pipeline route studies and desktop studies based on survey inputs.
- To prepare Pipeline Overall Route Maps, Key Plans, Alignment Sheets, Station Approach drawings, pipeline typical construction drawings, etc., in accordance with project specifications, international codes, and standards.
- Preparation of Pipeline Detail / Bulk MTO.
- To carry out detailed high-quality site visits, pipeline route surveys, and associated data collection.
- To compile site visit/route survey reports as required.
- To coordinate with other disciplines during all stages of pipeline design and drawings development.
- To provide technical support to site as required.
- Familiarity with key pipeline design codes and standards.
- Preparation of Piping input Drawings for on-plot and off-plot interface areas at the process plant.
- Coordination with topographical contractors and site personnel for preparation of AFC Alignment sheets.
- Must be eligible and willing to make occasional visits to Basra, Iraq.

Qualifications

Educational Attainments:

- Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant subject).

Business & Industry Experience:

- Minimum of 8 to 14 years relevant experience.
- Experience in FEED, Brownfield, Upstream Oil.
- PDS / PDMS experience required.
- Experience in site survey activities and techniques.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
