Senior Procurement Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer to join a leading main contractor in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, extensive procurement experience, and a proven track record of working on residential, hospitality, or commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of materials and services while maintaining quality standards.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to establish and maintain long-term partnerships.
- Material Planning: Collaborate with project managers and design teams to determine material requirements and ensure timely delivery to meet project schedules.
- Cost Control: Conduct cost analysis and budget reviews to optimize procurement efficiency and reduce project costs without compromising quality.
- Tendering and Contracts: Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts in line with company policies and project requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure procurement processes comply with local regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure the continuity of project operations.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, vendor performance, and project progress.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (B.Sc. Civil Engineering is mandatory).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement within the construction industry.
- Project Expertise: Proven experience in procuring for residential, hospitality, or commercial construction projects.

Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE procurement practices, market trends, and supply chain dynamics.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Salary:
AED 25,000 to 30,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
