The role

We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to lead a cross-functional agile team responsible for delivering an innovative web3 DeFi application. You will work within an agile program structure, aligning team efforts with strategic business goals while driving roadmap execution and user-centric development in your agile team.

Key responsibilities

As a Senior Product Owner at 1inch Labs, you'll be at the forefront of decentralised finance innovation, driving product strategy and execution across our core protocols and user-facing platforms. You'll lead agile teams in delivering scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions that push the boundaries of Web3. This role demands a strategic mindset, deep DeFi fluency, and the ability to translate complex technical and market dynamics into actionable product outcomes. The key responsibilities and day-to-day duties of the role include the following:

Product ownership & backlog management

• Own the product backlog, ensuring clear prioritisation and alignment with business objectives.
• Align backlog with company goals by closely working together with the Product Manager.
• Foster a common understanding of stories and business context within the agile team.
• Define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
• Balance feature development with security, scalability, and compliance considerations.

Stakeholder collaboration & communication

• Work closely with the Product Manager and Business Stakeholders to translate high-level vision into actionable deliverables.
• Align technical and non-technical stakeholders across teams within our agile program.

Agile process & execution

• Facilitate agile rituals, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and demos.
• Contribute to rituals within our program structure, like exploration workshops or showcase events.
• Ensure continuous alignment across teams to optimise feature delivery.
• Resolve dependencies between teams to ensure smooth execution.

Performance monitoring & improvement

• Monitor and measure product success through KPIs, customer feedback, and DeFi ecosystem analytics.
• Iterate on product development based on data-driven insights.

What you'll need

The key skills (soft skills & technical skills), knowledge, mindset and core experience required to be successful in this role as Senior Product Owner are as follows:

Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in agile environments.
• Deep knowledge of DeFi, blockchain protocols, and smart contract technology.
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact, user-driven products in a fast-paced startup environment.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, etc.).
• Familiarity with Web3 development tools (e.g., Solidity, EVM-based chains, smart contract auditing, dApp UX/UI considerations) is a plus.
• Familiarity with tools (JIRA, Confluence, Figma, etc.).

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve dependencies effectively.
