Objectives and Role Profile

- The job purpose of the Senior Project Manager is to:
- Development and implementation of Project Execution Plans for all CAPEX projects
- Interface Management between Programme Management functions throughout the project life cycle
- Oversight of Programme Management functions for compliance with cost, schedule and quality requirements

Key Tasks and Performance Indicators

Core Responsibilities:

- Ensuring the provision of project management input into the development of cost & schedule estimates as part of the Gates 2 and 3 steps of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects”
- Developing and obtaining approval of Project Execution Plans for each CAPEX Project immediately following a Gate 3 approval by the Investment Committee
- Ensuring the provision of project management input into the “Scope Definition” phase (Gate 3 to Gate 4) of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including implementation of packaging strategy, monitoring compliance with Project Execution Plans and updating Project Execution Plans.
- Leading and Managing all Programme Management activities and liaising with CPD for the “Procurement” phase (Gate 4 to Gate 5) of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including pre-tender site visits, technical evaluations, query responses, and monitoring compliance with Project Execution Plans and updating Project Execution Plans.
- Oversight of the “Delivery” phase (Gate 5 to Gate 6) for construction projects of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including monitoring commercial issues, monitoring progress, and monitoring compliance with Project Execution Plans and updating Project Execution Plans.
- Oversight of the “Asset Handover” phase (Gate 6 to Gate 7) of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including monitoring of inspections & handovers, interface management between multiple stakeholders, and monitoring compliance with Project Execution Plans and updating Project Execution Plans.
- Leading and Managing all Programme Management activities and liaising with CPD for the “Closeout” phase (Gate 7 to Gate 8) of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including assessment and resolution of claims.

People Management Responsibilities:

- Providing leadership to all resources within the Project Management function
- Interface management between the other functional departments to minimize disruption at each gate transition.
- Developing and implementing resourcing structures and plans for the Project Management function to be able to deliver projects while meeting corporate objectives
- Management and assignment of tasks to resources within the Project Management department to achieve the project requirements
- Implementing AD Ports Corporate Policies, Procedures and Initiatives related to people management within the construction department

Strategic Responsibilities:

- Oversight of the process to ensure achievement of cost and schedule while maintaining quality to support the lowest Total Installed Cost and earliest realization of revenues from the built assets, with particular focus on the minimization of claims and delays from construction contractors

Requirements

Qualifications/Experience/Competencies:

- Minimum Bachelor Degree in related field (e.g. Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, etc)
- English with clear demonstrable fluency in construction project management language and terminology
- >10 years
- Construction project management, with specific experience in management of EPC Projects
