POSITION:
• Senior SHEQ Adviser
• Reporting to the Regional SHEQ Manager
• Facilitate & ensure management take responsibility for managing SHEQ.
• Influence and support positive pro-active business management behaviour.
• Provide advice on all SHEQ issues to operational management, on a day-to-day basis.
• Attend and support Monthly Country Managers meetings and business specific meetings as appropriate to drive SHEQ integration in all areas of the business.
• Identify underlying causes for all incidents, to determine appropriate corrective action strategies to prevent reoccurrence.
• Complete incident investigations in accordance with Colas standards and as directed by RSHEM
• Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate SHEQ campaigns across Colas Middle East.
• To identify, conduct (as appropriate) or facilitate the implementation of SHEQ training needs as required for all employees to meet internal and statutory requirements.
• Undertake periodical analysis of incident, monitor management safety interventions & observations (F2F) for the purposes of monitoring compliance, identifying trends and corrective measures by management.
• Carry out periodic SHEQ audits and inspections, reporting in writing to Regional and Country Management the findings and prioritising significant issues appropriately.
• Ensure that SHEQ targets and objectives are met by each business within your area of control and monitor accordingly.
• Developing, Monitoring and supporting management in employee accommodation camp initiatives:
o wellbeing/food hygiene/social and health activities

Requirements

• 10+ yrs experience
• 3+ yrs GCC experience
• Infrastructure background with Asphalt experience is a preference. Candidates from mining, industrial and oil & gas sectors will be considered
• Experienced in Auditing to International Standards (ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001)
• Proven experience in dealing with representatives of Regulators
• Stable work history
• Strong communicator
• Relevant industry qualifications
