Job description / Role
We are seeking A Senior Interior Designer (Site-Based) who will be responsible for leading and managing interior design projects on-site, ensuring the successful execution of design plans in alignment with client expectations and project specifications. This role involves overseeing all phases of the project, from concept through completion, with a focus on quality, time, and budget management.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution:
- Oversee and manage all phases of interior design projects directly on-site, ensuring designs are executed according to plan and client specifications.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure design compliance with blueprints, plans, and quality standards.
Design Implementation:
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure that the interior designs are practical, achievable, and meet aesthetic goals.
- Review and refine design plans as needed, making adjustments on-site based on real-time challenges or changes in project scope.
- Ensure materials, finishes, and furnishings are in line with the design specifications and client expectations.
Client & Stakeholder Interaction:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, providing updates and addressing concerns or changes.
- Present design concepts and progress reports, gathering client feedback and making necessary adjustments.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, architects, and other professionals to align on project objectives and timelines.
On-Site Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve any design-related issues that arise during construction or installation, ensuring the project adheres to design integrity.
- Collaborate with the project team to address unforeseen site conditions or technical challenges that affect the design.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Ensure high-quality execution of all design elements, including finishes, furnishings, lighting, and spatial arrangement.
- Conduct final site inspections to ensure that the project meets design and safety standards before handover to the client.
Budget & Timeline Management:
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring that expenditures align with project scope and client expectations.
- Track project timelines, ensuring that work progresses according to schedule, and address any delays or issues that may arise.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, design changes, and meeting notes.
- Ensure that all documentation is up to date and shared with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in interior design, with a strong focus on site-based projects.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, etc.) and project management tools.
- Excellent understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing project conditions.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for design quality.
