Senior Site Interior Designer

Job description / Role

A leading interior design practice is seeking an experienced Senior Site Interior Designer to join the site team on a landmark luxury residential and hospitality development in Dubai. This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on technical coordination, quality control, and ensuring the accurate delivery of design intent during construction and fit-out.

Role Purpose

The Senior Site Interior Designer will support the on-site delivery of interior design works, working closely with the Associate Director and project leadership to ensure design intent, detailing, materials, and finishes are executed to the highest standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent coordination skills, and solid experience working on luxury projects in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

Site Coordination & Design Delivery

* Support the on-site delivery of interior design packages across residential and hospitality areas
* Assist in ensuring all interior works are executed in line with approved design intent, drawings, and specifications
* Coordinate closely with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers on site

Technical & Documentation

* Review and coordinate interior shop drawings, material submittals, and mock-ups for compliance with design intent
* Respond to RFIs and site queries, escalating complex issues where required
* Assist in coordinating design changes, revised drawings, and site instructions

Quality Control & Materials

* Carry out regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, finishes, and installation quality
* Support the review and approval of material samples including finishes, joinery, stone, metalwork, and FF&E
* Assist in monitoring mock-ups and sample rooms to ensure quality benchmarks are achieved

Coordination with Consultants

* Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist consultants to resolve clashes and interface issues
* Support design coordination meetings and site progress meetings

Reporting & Support

* Report site progress, issues, and risks to the Associate Director / Project Lead
* Assist with snagging, inspections, and handover documentation
* Support the preparation of site reports and as-built documentation

Qualifications & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline
* Minimum 7-10 years' experience in interior design delivery
* Strong UAE or Dubai site experience is essential
* Proven experience delivering luxury residential and/or hospitality projects through construction and fit-out
* Solid understanding of site execution, detailing, and contractor coordination

Technical Skills & Knowledge

* Strong experience reviewing and coordinating interior shop drawings
* Good knowledge of luxury materials, finishes, bespoke joinery, and FF&E
* Familiarity with UAE construction practices, site protocols, and authority requirements
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and design documentation tools (Revit experience is an advantage)
