Senior Structural Engineer

Job description / Role

My client, an established design consultancy in the United Kingdom are opening an office in Dubai and are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD Pro software, and a passion for designing innovative and sustainable structures.

Responsibilities

* Lead the structural engineering design process for a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
* Conduct structural analysis using ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD Pro software to ensure the safety and integrity of the designed structures.
* Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural requirements into the overall building design.
* Prepare and review construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
* Complete peer reviews of other designs and offer value engineering options.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior structural engineers and support staff.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, (5 years Middle East experience) with a focus on building design and analysis.
* Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD Pro software.
* Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Day-to-day

* Analyze and design structural components using ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD Pro software.
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure structural requirements are integrated into the overall design.
* Review and provide feedback on construction drawings and technical documents.
* Mentor and support junior structural engineers to foster their professional growth.
* Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and standards to ensure best practices in structural engineering.
