JOB OVERVIEW:
- Develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
- Responsible for the design of transportation related structures, primarily cast-in place concrete box girder bridges according to AASHTO design criteria, single span, multiple span, steel, reinforced concrete, other types of bridges, retaining walls, culverts, vehicular tunnel, highway and interchange and other structures.
- Develops the final design from conceptual design drawings, including limited development of architectural details.
- Assures the bridges are designed in accordance with approved requirements as well as following accepted industry practices and procedures.
- Provides structural specifications, estimating, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses. Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
- Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
- Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
- May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

- Degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- Preferably with professional registration or certification.
- At least 12 years relevant experience in the field of bridge design and transportation related structures design such as cast-in-place concrete post-tensioned box girder bridges, pre-stressed girders and other concrete elements, highways, interchange, and tunnels.
- At least 4 years working on a senior engineer level in an engineering-consulting firm in GCC region.
- Proficient with AASHTO design guidelines and structural design software including CONBOX, CONSPAN, RCPIER, PCACOL and STAAD PRO.
- Adept in Microstation and AutoCAD systems.
- Proven ability to perform in a senior and supervisory role.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
