Senior Structural Engineer (Bridge/ Underpass Construction)

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer with strong expertise in bridge and underpass construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for structural design review, construction supervision, technical coordination, and ensuring compliance with approved standards, specifications, and safety requirements across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee structural engineering activities for bridge and underpass construction projects.
• Review and approve structural designs, drawings, calculations, shop drawings, and method statements.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve structural design and construction-related issues on site.
• Ensure construction works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant local and international codes.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, consultants, and authorities on structural matters.
• Supervise site works including foundations, substructures, superstructures, and associated civil works.
• Monitor quality control activities, material approvals, inspections, and testing related to structural works.
• Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk mitigation measures.
• Prepare and review technical reports, inspection records, and progress documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in bridge and underpass construction projects.
• Strong background in reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete bridge structures.
• Hands-on experience with foundations, piles, abutments, piers, decks, and retaining structures.
• Sound knowledge of international design codes and standards (AASHTO, BS, Eurocodes, or equivalent).
• Experience in construction supervision and coordination on large infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and engineering software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, MIDAS, or similar).
• Familiarity with construction methodologies such as launching girders, segmental construction, and cast-in-situ works is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience in the UAE or GCC region is an advantage.
