Senior Tax Analyst

Job description / Role

Established in the 1980s, our client is a global brand name with HQ in the Middle East. This is a new Tax position to join a small, dynamic tax team in Dubai at Jebel Ali Freezone.

Responsibilities
• Ensure tax returns in every country are in compliance with tax laws
• Ensure compliance of withholding tax (WHT) and value added tax (VAT) regulations
• Provide guidance to local accountants/ finance managers on all tax matters
• Check and approve the tax returns
• Verify the correct percentages (e.g. WHAT, VAT, capital gain tax, sales tax) applied by the stations on transactions/invoices
• Discuss and explain relevant tax matters to internal managers
• Explain relevance of certain tax matters for the group
• Prepare and/or review Transfer Pricing policies and documentation
• Determine corporate Transfer Pricing policy in agreement with the finance team
• Ensure intercompany transactions are in compliance with as well international tax regulations as local requirements
• Analyze intercompany transaction financials
• Coordinate with our central advisor/local advisors in order to make sure the documentation is in line with local regulations
• Review legal agreements relating to the intercompany transactions and provide recommendations to the legal team
• Review and evaluate the profit margins
• Ensure no legal/tax penalties are imposed

Salary:
AED 20,000 to 30,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• CTA qualified or equivalent with 4-8 yrs PQE
• Both VAT and Corporate Tax experience – at least 5 years
• From Big 4 or other top tier firm
• Some industry experience gained in a Tax team would be advantageous
• Experience of GCC Tax
• Fluent in English
