Senior Technical Analyst, Airport Management Systems (AMS) Software, Dubai UAE

PURPOSE
- Have full responsibility of technical delivery of major projects in the area, owning the design sanity, work organization of team and quality of work, services and documents.
- Translate and align technical, business and operational requirements of systems, applications, services etc into technical and / or functional specifications, ensuring the overall capability / viability of a specific product(s) is achievable.
- Ensure the integration of the requirements match those of interacting systems, applications and services both inside and outside of SITA in the wider airline community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead user workshops to validate customer requirements, confirm and negotiate technical specifications upon activation of a project, verifying adherence to requirements in delivered solutions.
- Organise work of team, liaise with stakeholders (customer, project management, business analysts etc) to ensure works are supportive of high quality deployment
- Liaise with solution design to ensure solution implemented will support purpose of projects
- Implement added functionality; either from specific application enhancements or functionality requirements of the user community.
- Implement technical change requests ensuring all system changes follow agreed policy and comply with audit requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design extensions to the existing applications.
- Provide maintenance and support of applications developed.
- Draft technical documentation that supports the products as defined in the requirements.
- Using the technical specification, create unit test plan, cases, scripts and documentation and perform actual testing relating to the technical testing.
- Ensure all risks and issues that effect the project are raised following set processes and are actioned appropriately. Escalate risks and issues that pose a significant impact to deliverables.
- Support implementation of specific application/s in each specific country / region.
- Mentor and coach a small group of less experienced Specialists ensuring they have the skills and knowledge in order to perform their roles.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 7 years in either Microsoft SQL or Oracle based Applications Software Implementation and Configuration, preferably as team lead
- Proven operational knowledge of SITA/Other Airport Management Systems a plus
- Experience working within an airport environment is beneficial

Competency in the following technical skills/experience would be required for AMS:
- Version Management procedures.
- Windows and Windows Server Operating Systems
- Network installation and configuration
- LAN/WAN Technologies and Protocols
- MS SQL and Oracle installation and system administration
- SQL proficient
- XML and XSL proficient
- Message Queuing such as IBM MQ, WebSphere, IBM Websphere Message Broker or similar e.g. Microsoft MQ,
- Be familiar with web based and client / server based software
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently without much supervision on a day to day basis, but seek guidance pro-actively, when key problems or issues arise.
- Represent professionally AMS Centre of Excellence in all aspects of the engagement to internal and external groups from presales to customer acceptance testing.
- Be and remain customer focused at all times.
- Be familiar with the technical aspects regarding the AMS system, such as terminology, practices and implementation methodologies

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar
- Where applicable a recognised professional qualification is desirable.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Candidate must be willing to travel worldwide up to 50% of time.
- Candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
- Candidate must have excellent people management skills allowing him/her to successfully drive teams in conditions of stress, securing consistent quality.
