Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Senior Technical Officer is in charge of day-to-day technical operation of the venue including setting up for events, programming lighting, video and audio equipment for the event, and assisting visiting acts in the setup of their performance.

Description
• Working with the team to implement medium and long-term strategic plans of the Department in line with the vision, mission and strategic goals
• Reviews project proposals or provide feedback as well as budget implications
• Identify new technology needs that ensure the venue runs efficiently and cost effectively (in coordination with IT Department)
• Assists in the planning of upcoming events including crewing and equipment allocations
• Attend planning meetings to assist in the long term technical planning for the venue.
• Undertakes ongoing maintenance of equipment as required by the maintenance schedule
• Setup and operation of technical equipment relating to shows and events
• Supervision of external contractors working within the company and external to the company on any events and ensure they follow all venue rules and protocols
• Assist visiting acts in setting up their show, including making sure presentations are of correct format for the auditorium equipment
• Any other duties appropriate to the post

Requirements

• Graduate Degree (Bachelor) in Engineering. Additionally, a diploma in Arts and Stagecraft minor will be an added advantage
• 5+ years of experience in stage management
• Technical AV experience
• Stagecraft and stage operation knowledge including sound, lighting, projection
• Basic electrical, electronics, and mechanical principles as applied to stage equipment
• Knowledge of standard operating and security procedures in her/his field
• General and specialized computer applications
• Ability to manage change and diverse constituents
• Spirit of initiative and responsiveness to arising challenges
• Good relationship building and listening skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in English
