Responsibilities
- Contribute to a variety of transport planning studies including large scale transport master plan assessments, traffic impact studies or multi-disciplinary planning projects in the public and private sectors.
- Independently lead Traffic Impact Studies (TIS) in Dubai, including liaison and coordination with various departments of RTA as part of the TIS process.
- Understand transport planning, traffic engineering and travel demand theory.
- Have project experience in the Middle East and familiarity with local transport planning standards and practices.
- Possess practical understanding of the role and importance of transport planning in development access and citywide mobility plans.
- Have experience of traffic engineering and transport planning of large development projects.
- Lead the preparation of reports as per RTA requirements.
- Review and lead the traffic analysis and TIS process.
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
- Learn and retain new skills quickly from a variety of sources.
- Work with limited supervision.
- Have some experience in project and financial management.
- Assist in growing the Atkins Transport Planning Business as well as selling Atkins services generally.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent is a must.
- Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in traffic modelling and transport planning.
- Experience with RTA TIS Guidelines.
- Must be a registered RTA TIS Liaison Engineer.
- Knowledge of conducting large Traffic Impact Studies in UAE.
- Experience working within a team.
- Master's degree in transport planning or equivalent field is desirable.
- Experience in traffic engineering, transport planning and modelling projects across UAE.
- Must be an RTA-approved Liaison Engineer.
- Must have experience with RTA TIS projects (Level 1 to 3).
- Competence with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Understanding of various authority guidelines and manuals in UAE.
- Experience with traffic engineering software such as SYNCHRO, SIDRA and HCS.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong communication and personal skills.
