OPPORTUNITY:
Parsons provides construction supervision consultancy to a flagship infrastructure project in Dubai, UAE. The planned development encompasses commercial districts linked by leisure developments that expand into further residential neighborhoods and parks in an area of approximately 400 hectares. Scope of work includes internal roads, external highway intersections, bridges, street lighting, electrical (HV and LV) networks, district cooling, potable water, sewerage, storm water drainage networks, waste management and other structures and infrastructure works.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides utility engineering knowledge on utilities relocation, protection and construction works as part of roads, infrastructure and land development projects including but not limited to HV/MV/LV electrical power transmission/distribution lines, transmission and distribution water lines, telecommunication networks (copper and FOC), street lighting system (Conventional and LED), sewer, irrigation, Traffic Signal system, oil/gas line,etc.
Undertakes investigations, designs, calculations, reports, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities for infrastructure utilities.
Ensures contractor compliance with applicable engineering codes and standards and QA/QC systems, policies, and procedures. Arranges regular meetings with the contractor to review progress on utility submittals and site issues.
Reviews utility submittals including vendors, shop drawings and utility drawings, surge analysis reports and specifications for compliance with the Contract requirements and design intent.
Contributes to preparing project QA/QC and safety procedures, obtaining necessary government approvals and NOC’s.
Consults with other discipline leaders to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for scheduled completion of construction.
Visits and supervises the site to inspect the utility installation progress and identify non-conformances. Gives practical advice on constructional matters.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
At least 15 years of related site work experience (e.g water pump stations, sewerage, drainage, power stations, street lighting, telecommunications networks, gas lines etc.).
Significant experience in construction supervision of large infrastructure developments in the Middle East/GCC in an engineering consulting firm.
Preferably with extensive experience in Dubai or UAE.
Excellent written, presentation and oral communications skills.
