Senior Workover and Wells Plug & Abandonment Engineer

Job Description:
• Lead and execute well workover and abandonment projects, in compliance with regulatory guidelines and policies and procedures. This will include but will not be limited to well workover design, P&A design, programme development, procedural compliance, cost control and supporting operations.
• Accountable for the planning, support, execution & wrap up of the assigned workover and plug & abandonment activities & campaigns.
• Accountable for set up well integrity and abandonment guidelines together with the Senior Well Integrity Engineer.
• Participate at well work planning and provide technical inputs and actively participate in tool and device selection for Workover and P&A operations.
• Create Technical Justifications and Technical Reports
• Comprehend and extract data from software such as OpenWells, Landmak WellCat, or an equivalent.
• Responsible for planning risk assessment and recommendations that will minimize the impact of contaminants on the drilling fluids system.
• Responsible for Workover and Plug & Abandonment (P&A) activity and is critical for the planning and delivery of the workover and decommissioning plan in a safe and efficient manner.
• Develops procedures and work schedules for Wells team for safe abandonment and workover operations.
• Preparation of all required Workover and P&A engineering documentation.

About the Client:
A leading oil and gas company in UAE

Qualifications:
• 45 years old and below
• BSc / MSc degree in Petroleum / Well / Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of significant experience in an oil and gas industry with Workover and P&A and Well intervention projects; depleted reservoir operations UBD/HPHT experience would be a plus
• Must have Hydraulic Workover Unit experience and previous field experience
• Must have NORSOK/UKOOA – Oil & Gas UK /API standards
• Must have experience working with/for Major Operator Oil Companies; service company experience of at least 15 years
• Experience working in H2S environment is must
• With valid IWCF Well Control Certificate Supervisor level
• Technical writing skills are essential
• Experience with engineering software (Landmak WellCat, OpenWells)
