Job description / Role
Purpose: Overall management of Shipping and Logistics Department for timely deliveries and problem free operation. Coordinating and negotiating with shipping agents & transporters for best freight & transport rates for the company. Solving all the operational issues to have timely deliveries to our customers. Creating new resources for company to have better control on the logistics & shipping costs. Dealing with all the government authorities and maintaining the best relationship for the benefit of company. Overlook the shipping & logistics activities in the department.
Responsibilities:
- Export: Responsible to manage export as per the schedule.
- Import : Ensure the end to end process completes within set timeframe. Interacts and liaises with Dubai/RAK Municipality for ensuring compliance with Food regulations for import of material as per UAE regulations.
- Coordination: Ensure that effective coordination is being done to export and import all the material as per the schedule and requirements.
- Training and retraining of staff. Ensure that all Staff needs to fulfill their role and obligations as per the goals and objectives for the department. By-passing the system will have serious implications on our operation and on the individual responsible. Departmental discipline is essential. Coach, mentor and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements.
- Cost Reduction. Create awareness among staffs and colleagues of cost factor and contribute to plant’s cost reduction program.
Requirements
Male/Female/Indian Only, 30 years old up; Local candidates are preferred; Degree in Logistics and Shipping Management related courses or any business related courses; Minimum of 10-15 years working experience in related position; From or with FMCG / ISO Certified industries experiences.
Expert in Export/Import management; Timely knowledge of UAE global and government requirements in terms with Shipping and Logistics are required; Can work logically and systematically.
Ability to multi-task; Knowledgeable of KPI and/or other performance management system is an advantage; Have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
