Shipyard Manager

Job description / Role

We are seeking an experienced Shipyard Manager to oversee and manage our marine and shipbuilding operations in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating all shipyard activities, ensuring efficient production, adherence to safety regulations, and high-quality output. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a focus on operational excellence to drive the success of our shipyard operations.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of shipyard operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize shipyard processes, improve efficiency, and maximize productivity.
- Lead and mentor a team of shipyard staff, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution and timely delivery of vessels.
- Manage resources, budgets, and schedules to meet production targets and project deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory agencies, to address project requirements and resolve issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipyard operations, implement best practices, and achieve cost-effective solutions.

- Proven work years of 8-10 years experience as manager in shipyard management and operations within the marine and shipbuilding industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of shipbuilding processes, maritime regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive operational excellence, and deliver results.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices in a shipyard or maritime environment.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to address operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in resource allocation, budget management, and project scheduling.
- Degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications or additional training in shipyard management or maritime operations are advantageous.

UAE based candidates and experience are preferred.
