Site Civil Engineer

Job description / Role

The Site Civil Engineer is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and quality control of all civil and structural construction activities performed under the General Contractor’s scope of work. He ensures that all site operations are executed in full compliance with approved design documentation, specifications, technical codes, project schedule, and UAE authority requirements.

The position covers direct site supervision of all civil and general construction activities, including but not limited to earthworks, concrete and structural works, masonry, roofing, finishing, external utilities, infrastructure, and ancillary works. Within the structure of the General Contractor, the Site Civil Engineer acts as a core member of the Main Staff, supporting the Construction Manager in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all construction works on site.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management from an accredited university.
• Degree Equivalency Certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education (if degree obtained outside the UAE).
• Valid registration with the UAE Society of Engineers – mandatory.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in civil and structural site supervision on industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects, including:
• At least 5 years of experience in the UAE, in Abu Dhabi., with proven record of authority coordination and construction supervision;
• At least 3 years of experience within a General Contracting company, performing duties directly aligned with licensed General Contractor activities.
• Strong practical knowledge of UAE Building Codes, ADM, Civil Defense, KEZAD, and Estidama regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Project; knowledge of Revit or BIM systems is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills in English (Upper-Intermediate level or higher); Arabic language is an advantage.
