Job description / Role
Our client is a leading facilities management company.
This is an outsourced and temporary position for 6 months only.
MAIN PURPOSE:
To provide a professional service to ensure all project works are in line with the department and company standards
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Running refurbishment projects and small works on behalf of the Estates department.
• Write the projects scope of works and develop specifications.
• Monitor the projects QA/QC and conduct the required checks.
• Projects planning and cost estimation preparation.
• Provide the required MEP support for the department engineers and technicians.
• Manage and control the small works sub-contractors on the Campus.
• Ensure all project works are executed within the agreed standards and timelines.
• Liaise with UAEU end users and contractors for inspections.
• Actively participate with the Engineers ‘On Call’ rota system.
• Assist in managing the ‘Permit to Work’, safe system of work.
• Supervise, monitoring and controlling the ongoing projects and coordinate with various contractors for the work.
• Prepare periodic Progress Reports as required by the line manager.
• Prepare the method statements and risk assessments as required.
• Adhere the safety standards on site and report any incidents.
• Review project documents as required (drawings, material and technical submittals) ensuring they comply with the original design intent.
HSE Job Responsibilities
• To comply with the organization’s QHSE policies and procedures at all times.
• To work safely at all times and to report all hazards and incidents to Departmental Supervisors/Managers
• To actively participate in all QHSE training, programs, audits and inspections when required and, as necessary.
• To exercise a personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare and to that of others.
• To lead by example and ensure to protect the environment by conservation of electricity, water and other natural resources, and minimizing generation of waste.
Information Security Responsibilities
• To protect information assets including both electronic and paper based from all threats whether internal, external, accidental or deliberate.
Requirements
• Minimum three years post-graduation experience in relevant industry.
• Proven knowledge of the MEP systems & building services systems.
• Familiar with design & engineering standards.
• Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, maintenance and manufactures manuals.
• Ability to manage sub-contractors and write scope of works and specifications.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Project management skills and experience.
• Customer focused.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Familiar with planning tools as MS Project.
