Opportunity

The project is a development of an area of land of 10,835,456 square meters targeted as a high-quality residential community. The project will be divided into districts offering golf course, villas, townhouses, apartments, parks, retail, different sports, activities fields, schools and mosques. Parsons scope will compromise consultancy services for the landscape design adoption and construction supervision to the public areas and the rights of way areas within the residential villas.

Position Overview

The Site Inspector shall assure the quality of work in the project. He/she will be the eyes and ears of the RE to ensure compliance of the work with the drawings and specifications. He/she shall be familiar with the plans, specifications, specifications and construction methods for the phases of the work to which he is assigned.

Specific Responsibilities

• Ensure that all construction works are performed in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Maintain a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labour and equipment used, and sign at the end of each day as directed by the RE.
• Interface with the public and stakeholders adjacent to the work to mitigate the construction impacts.
• Coordinate with the contractor’s foreman in charge of the job daily to advise on the proper execution of the work.
• Coordinate with the Materials Inspectors and arrange for sampling and testing of satisfactorily completed work, and quality assurance testing of suspect materials.
• Coordinate with the Surveyors to check the line and grade of ready work and completed work for conformance with the plans and specifications.
• Report questionable methods of operation by the Contractor to the Resident Engineer.
• Report to the RE any failure of the Contractor to perform the work as per the drawings and specifications and to provide good workmanship.
• Process the Inspection Requests and maintain records of their status.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed by the contractor in case the work is performed on a Day Works basis.
• Act professionally and firmly in dealings with the Contractor.

Requirements

• Technical diploma in civil engineering or equivalent and 15 years of related work experience on infrastructure and landscape projects.
• Minimum of 5 years UAE-Dubai experience is preferred.
• Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment.
