Synopsis
The role is part of the Solutions and Innovation team, where the individual will get the chance to be involved in delivering innovative projects for the Pricing and Revenue Management (RM) function.
He/she will have the opportunity to put operations research and machine learning in practice to develop new algorithms as proof of concepts and subsequently implement as solutions after validation in areas such as pricing, demand forecasting, and optimization.
Accountabilities
- Master inputs, outputs, and algorithm of current RM systems, and support RM in day-to-day inquiries. Develop strong commercial knowledge and liaise with internal and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements.
- Construct data models and analytical tools to support commercial decisions to maximize revenue.
- Drive revenue and automation by developing advanced analytical models (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive) and deploying them in the Pricing & RM ecosystem.
- Develop and maintain calibration of forecast, fare, and optimization parameters in revenue management systems for better forecast accuracy and effective origin & destination (O&D) controls.
- Participate in key commercial projects including improving existing processes and testing and implementing new technologies to maximize revenue.
- Monitor the user actions (forecast influences, optimization, and fare strategies) in the systems and provide insights on their impact and improve system usage.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing of revenue management systems and provide guidance on test scenarios to various stakeholders involved in system upgrades.
- Manage data quality assurance of inputs and outputs of pricing & RM systems interacting closely with RM and IT.
- Maintain and automate routine tasks on system health.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, operations research, economics, computer science, or engineering.
- Four years of relevant experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining operations research and/or data science models used in commercial/operational processes.
- Experience in the usage of data science programming languages (R, Python) and cloud-based data warehouse (Azure Synapse Analytics, Google BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Experience within the aviation industry in the areas of commercial, such as demand forecasting and optimization, is an asset.
