Job description / Role

Employment: Temporary

This opportunity is with a well-known construction company in Dubai.

As Sourcing Specialist, you will work in making efficient sourcing processes. To save costs, time and maximize profitability, you will negotiate with suppliers and use strategic sourcing strategies in the industry. You will be primarily responsible in implementing cost-effective strategies. Your goal is to create strong relationships with suppliers and maintain the existing ones. The supplier database will be maintained and updated by you. If existing supplier are unable to meet obligations, it is your job to find alternatives. It is your responsibility to maintain long-lasting relationships. From different suppliers, you will obtain quotes. In order to ensure that contracts relating to product procurement contain all negotiation details, you will also work with the legal counsel. You will primarily create solutions to develop the company’s outsourcing and spending. You will always try to optimize the buying process. Then you will conduct market research, as well as creating cost estimates and forecasts. You are responsible in hiring, training, and managing procurement department employees. You will make sure all contracts comply fully with industry regulations. While trying to minimize risk to the supply chain, you will practice coherence, alignment, rigor, openness and commerciality.

Requirements

To be successful, you would ideally need to possess at least 7 years of experience in sourcing process under manufacturing and construction industries. You should be able to understand sourcing methodologies proficiently. Specifically, you should have worked in operations and procurement functions. A degree in logistics, supply chain, engineering or any related field is preferred. You should have expert knowledge in the supply chain market and procurement standards. Experience with managing contracts and making long-term agreements is required. Strong negotiation skills will be very helpful in the long run. Having good time management and organizational skills is required. Possessing soft skills like empathy and relationship-building is critical. You should also be financially adept and understand things like cash flow, capital costs, and income statement. Other than that, you should have good skills in collaboration, problem solving and communication.

To be a suitable candidate, you should be knowledgeable with contract management, supplier management, sourcing, and spend analysis. With consistence, you should consider and achieve the value for money. Developing skills in share analysis, category risk analysis and vendor qualifications will help you acquire better practice and management.
