Sous Chef (Japanese Kitchen)

The Sous Chef for Hibachi outlet will lead the Hibachi team in producing an exceptional Japanese food such as Sushi and Teppanyaki that will make the guests come back for more.

What you will be doing:

- Leads the team in the entire kitchen operation of the Hibachi outlet;
- Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, line cooking, food preparation, and proper plating, particularly in Japanese food;
- Monitors kitchen items and ingredients;
- Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours;
- Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns;
- Works with Executive Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities;
- Ensures that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed;
- Assists head chef in developing a menu;

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years experience in the same position
- Strong background in cooking Japanese food , including but not limited to Sushi and Teppanyaki
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Exceptional Customer-Service Skills
- Extensive Food and Beverage Knowledge
- Ability to Work Under Pressure
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
