Key responsibilities:

• Uphold the GEMS core values of innovation, excellence, lifelong learning, and global citizenship in all aspects of teaching and student interactions.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and best practices in inquiry-based learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including English language learners and students identified as gifted and talented.
• Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes collaboration, curiosity, and student well-being.
• Use technology and innovative approaches to enhance learning experiences.
• Assess student progress through varied, authentic methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan cohesive units and contribute to ongoing curriculum development.
• Participate actively in the school's co-curricular and community programmes to support holistic learning.

Skills

Successful candidates will need to:

• Bachelor's degree in education (B.Ed) or a subject-related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/state teaching license or equivalent) in Spanish.
• Proven experience teaching high school Spanish, ideally within an American or IB curriculum context (preferred but not essential).
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and support students through engaging, purposeful learning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and reflective approach.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and contributing to the school's positive, inclusive culture.
