Speech and Language Therapist

Job description / Role

Our client, an innovative multidisciplinary center providing services to children with special needs and developmental challenges, is looking for a pediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join their team in Dubai. The role is to provide speech and language therapy service to a mainstream school and in their center.

Responsibilities:
- Delivering effective and efficient speech and language therapy, participating in future developments and promoting the speech and language therapy role,
- Conduct communication assessments and write comprehensive assessment reports,
- Provide communication therapy for children presenting with a range of challenges - language delays, social communication challenges, delayed play skills, speech sound development delays,
- Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team in the center and mainstream school staff
- Make relevant referrals to other professionals eg. audiology, music therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy,
- Provide communication support strategies to families and teachers.

Requirements

- Must have a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, or relevant field,
- Must have not less than 2 years experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment with children with mild to moderate needs,
- Experience working in mainstream school, nursery or special needs center is required,
- Candidates who are currently in the UAE preferred,
- DHA or HAAD license an added advantage.
