Overview
The Sponsorship Specialist will plan and implement the day-to-day running of sponsorship programmes within the Group's sponsorship portfolio in conjunction with a cross-functional, integrated marketing communications team, in line with the sponsorship strategy in order to ensure business needs.
Responsibilities
- Implement sponsorship activities in accordance with the global sponsorship strategy and regional marcomms strategy (including implementation of the defined social media strategy as appropriate).
- Research, analyse and make recommendations regarding matters related to day-to-day cost control of a sponsorship in order to ensure budgetary compliance.
- Negotiate externally with suppliers as directed to ensure cost-effective use of departmental budgets and timely and effective delivery of services.
- Manage sponsorship events/programmes including on-ground logistics and transportation, sourcing of appropriate business promotion cabin crew, booking of hotel accommodation for VIP guests, hospitality guest list and all other necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth running and operation of our events. Ensure brand and business message integration is clearly articulated in all aspects of sponsorship including on-site branding and activation.
- Brief and co-ordinate external and internal parties and departments such as graphic design, advertising, etc. (as directed) to ensure timely delivery of all rights and benefits as per the sponsorship contract.
- Manage the effective delivery from suppliers regarding corporate standards and cost control, thereby ensuring suppliers have delivered as per corporate quality standards.
- Advise and guide outstations prior to any event in order to establish local requirements and expectations of the sponsorship, and if necessary to instruct compliance with the global sponsorship strategy and regional marcomms strategy.
- Complete the pre and post-event reports with recommendations for improvements in order to give a full evaluation of the sponsorship.
- Maintain documented accounts of each sponsorship project in an organised manner to ensure smooth functioning of all activities.
- Ensure use of management information systems (Empower, Media Plan System, Event Management System) to project manage, track, share and archive all work as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree or honours in marketing or similar (12+3 or equivalent).
- 5+ years in marketing and media communication in promotions and events.
- Proven marketing experience in multinational organisations handling sponsorships and events.
- Must have professional knowledge of the sponsorship work in a multinational company.
- The jobholder should be computer literate to MS Office (or equivalent) standards.
- The jobholder must be a proficient communicator and negotiator.
- Must be an adaptable individual, must work exceptionally well under pressure to meet exacting deadlines and high volume.
- Must also be able to project manage events and simultaneously manage a variety of issues.
- Additionally, a highly competent organiser with the ability to prioritise objectively is required.
- Supervisory skills are also required since the jobholder needs to effectively be able to get results from the supplier's staff during an event.
