Sportswear Sourcing Specialist

Job description / Role

We are looking for a candidate who has experience in sourcing sportswear brands. The ideal candidate should work well with the internal brand team, the company management and the factories.

The key responsibilities include:
• Have established partnerships with suppliers to ensure that delivery timelines and product quality is ensured.

The candidate should work with the factories to ensure that:
• Factories are approved by brand principals and factory audits are undertaken as required by contractual obligations.
• Sampling protocols including lab dips, proto samples, production samples and any other requirements are met in a timely manner.
• The purchase order process and the production process including XF dates are maintained as per standards.
• Quality standards are spot checked and maintained with the factories.
• The brand related legal requirements including labeling requirements to authenticate the brand are followed as per agreements.
• Communication with the factory is carried out on a daily basis and the internal team appraised of all relevant updates on a periodic basis.
• Evaluate new sourcing opportunities in order to adhere to product deadlines within the scope of factory capacity and capabilities.
• Manage the seasonal product calendar keeping in minds the trends in the sports and sport lifestyle industry, trade regulations and the direction of the brand.
• Manage the sourcing for club related teamwear products which require faster turn around and smaller production runs.
• Play a significant role in building the sourcing strategy for the company and help execute the seasonal sourcing plan.
• Ensure that cost analysis is conducted to keep the sourcing costs within the parameters set without diluting the product quality.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate would have the experience of working in the sportswear sourcing industry and with a multi-cultural environment.
• The candidate would have the experience in working with factories in China, Turkey, Egypt and Bangladesh.
• Working within strict deliverable timelines is an essential part of the profile.
• At least 5 years’ experience in the field of sportswear sourcing, costing and manufacturing is imperative.
• Experience in working with production for soccer related teamwear for the different tiers of club product is necessary.
• Knowledge of materials and functional aspects of technical fabrics would be necessary.
• The profile is based in Dubai and the position requires travel to the factories as and when required.
• The ideal candidate would have a degree in textile manufacturing and will have a strong analytical and organizational mindset.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
• A candidate who can work in a dynamic environment and adapt quickly to the challenges faced would be ideal.
